RELOAD

Core Definition

Replaying a tune from the very beginning. Similar to a pull-up, it is triggered when a dubplate or anthem gets an ecstatic reaction from the massive.

[ Comprehensive Explanation & Cultural Context ]

While 'pull up' refers to the physical action of stopping and rewinding the turntable, the 'reload' describes the program action of playing the tune again from the top. In modern digital stepper and dub settings, reload commands are shouted over the microphone by the MC ('Reload Selecta!'). It signals absolute satisfaction from the crowd and is reserved strictly for heavyweight dubplates, exclusive refixes, or absolute anthems that define the identity of the soundsystem crew.
